According To The variety India’s Colour Yellow continues its streak of unconventional storytelling with “Tu Yaa Main,” a new thriller pairing BAFTA nominee Adarsh Gourav (“The White Tiger,” “Superboys of Malegaon”) with newcomer Shanaya Kapoor in what the filmmakers describe as an “ultimate date fright film.”

The project marks the first collaboration between producers Aanand L. Rai and director Bejoy Nambiar, known for his atmospheric thriller “Shaitan.” The teaser unfolds in what’s described as “hauntingly atmospheric backwaters,” offering glimpses of a narrative that oscillates between romance and pulse-pounding suspense.

The film is positioned as an adrenaline-charged experience that seamlessly blends love, primal terror, and survival. Produced by Himanshu Sharma (the “Haseen Dillruba” franchise) and written by Abhishek Bandekar, the core narrative thrives on the lead pair’s strikingly different socio-economic backgrounds — a deliberate clash that speaks to the characters’ conflicting worldviews.

With ‘Tu Yaa Main,’ we’re pushing the boundaries of romance and survival in a way that’s both emotionally charged and intensely terrifying,” Nambiar said. “Adarsh and Shanaya’s chemistry and their contrasting energies are what will make ‘Tu Yaa Main’ a wild ride. It’s a unique canvas that allows us to explore complex characters against the backdrop of an unforgiving wilderness.”

Rai, whose Colour Yellow banner has previously delivered critically acclaimed films like “Tumbbad,” “Newton,” “Haseen Dillruba,” and “Raanjhanaa,” underscored the film’s unpredictable nature.

“At Colour Yellow, we are constantly pushing the envelope when it comes to storytelling,” Rai said. “‘Tu Yaa Main’ is a film that thrives on unpredictability – pairing two incredibly exciting artists in a story that refuses to play by the rules. We wanted actors who could not only embody their characters’ emotional complexity but also bring a natural intensity to their performances.”

The production is targeting a Valentine’s Day 2026 theatrical release, positioning itself as “the ultimate date fright film.”

Meanwhile, Colour Yellow continues to expand its slate with upcoming titles including Rai’s “Tere Ishk Mein,” slated for a November release. Gourav’s “Superboys of Malegaon” is currently on release and he has a key role in series “Alien: Earth.”
